Hope you enjoy your stay here! Mongolians joke a lot about the country, but everywhere has its pros and cons. There’s nothing quite like summer in Chicago. Also there are lots of events and concerts being announced during the summer time so look out for them on FB events! The most notable one would be Playtime Music Festival this July, which I saw someone else explained already.

Most are bars and pubs, but to be fair there's not much else to do here lol. The best places to find expats or english speaking Mongolians would be: Republik, Fumo, Shangri-la (Bitsy Co, Brussels, Skywalker), Cielo, Spark, Yello, UB Comedy Club, etc. It's better to walk during the warm months as traffic here is horrible, but if you need to use transportation, use the UB Cab app! Buses are fine but pickpockets are common, and hailing a taxi from the street could get you scammed or worse. Most Mongolians are very friendly and love westerners! Don't be afraid to socialize as most people speak english (especially those younger than 40). Always carry something to protect yourself (pepper spray, taser), better to be safe than sorry. It's a sad truth but men in the country can be quite predatory, although they may not approach you much since you're a foreigner. I saw from one of the comments that you're a woman! As a woman myself, my advice is to be extremely careful and wary when going out alone.
